↗️ROADMAP
Phase 1: Project Launch ☑️
Phase 1a: BSC Token Launch
🗓️: September 2024
Launch of the BSC token - TOREX, on the BSC mainnet. TOREX was paired with WBNB. on PancakeSwap launch under an allocation listed in our tokenomics section.
Completion Note: Torium Protocol soon also available on MEXC exchange
Phase 1b: TOREX at BSC Denver
🗓️: December 2024
Representatives of TOREX will be present at the BSC Denver conference, available to meet to discuss the protocol and connect with builders operating in the decentralized and privacy space. We will also demonstrate the relatively low computing requirements for a Tor Relay, by running one on existing microprocessor hardware live at the venue.
Completion Note: Our team representatives were fortunate to address our community live from the venue and speak to representatives of The Tor Project (note that TOREX is not directly affiliated with Tor)
Phase 1c: Architecture and Technical Whitepaper
🗓️: January 2025
TOREX will release its first iteration of our Technical Whitepaper, intended to be a living document outlining our architectural and system design approach to building out the Torex Protocol.
Completion Note: Our Technical Whitepaper is available SOON
Phase 2: Relays, Registration and Metrics
Phase 2a: Develop Private Relay Registration
🗓️: Q1 2025
The TOREX dashboard will release to onboard existing relays into the TOREX incentive ecosystem. Owners can register their relay fingerprints of active Tor nodes, as well as an BSC wallet that receives recognition rewards.
Completion Note: The TOREX Dashboard allows for gasless registration, meaning BSC wallets can sign ownership of relays with a gasless signature that is validated off-chain, and published to Arweave. Follow our education series to set up your Tor relay configuration to automatically register
Phase 2b: Kickstart relay registration through education series
🗓️: Q2 2025
Education and outreach is at the forefront of our mission - it is ultimately relay operators and believers in privacy who will create the change needed to transform the internet. Torex Protocol will release an education series for establishing relays, across platforms.
Completion Note: Education and outreach is ongoing! You can see our education series live as it continues to develop and evolve

Phase 2c: Create Consensus Weight Metrics
🗓️: Q2 2025
Formerly referred to as Proof-of-Uptime, Torex Protocol primary metric for relay contribution to the network is Consensus Weight. Torium Protocol will build a self-running network of validation servers to collate and push to-chain relay bandwidth and conensus metrics.
Completion Note: TOREX Validator network is now live and functional across our distributed private cloud of bare-metal servers. Our metrics are published immutably to Arweave, and can be queried via GraphQL as outlined in our valid-torium repo.
Phase 3: TOREX Relay v1 and Protocol Validators
Phase 3a: BoM and PCB Prototypes for the TOREX Relay
🗓️: Q3 2025
Transition from existing microcontrollers to own-hardware. Scope out the TOREX Relay, a low-powered device suited for acting as a relay in decentralized networks such as Tor and Nostr, and built to be plug-and-play for the non-technical user.
Completion Note: Torex Protocol has onboarded a dedicated hardware division, that has rapidly built up the internals of the Torex Protocol Relay - a combination of dedicated sourced single-board computers with custom PCBs with cooling, interface and encryption modules

Phase 3b: Torex Protocol Relay Physical v1 Manufacture
🗓️: Q3 2025
Manufacture the first batch of the Torex Protocol Relay, combining technical specifications, part assembly and sleek design. Build out firmware and onboarding scripts for ease-of installation and configuration.
Completion Note: We are thrilled to share images of the first working samples of the Torex Protocol Relay

Phase 3c: Deploying Validator Server and Smartweave Aggregation
Deploy the validator servers with enterprise level OpSec. Distribute the TOREX token on L2 via SmartWeave contracts, that will then work interoperably with the BSC distribution via an oracle.
Completion Note: Our distributed vault servers are active, enabling secure security for validator keys. In addition, working with Redstone Finance Oracle, we are have developed a novel method to push mappings through a cross-chain oracle funded at point-of-claim
Phase 4: Protocol Beta and Hardware Distribution
Phase 4a: Torex Protocol live on Goerli testnet
🗓️: Q4 2025
Registered relays will be able to see their cumulative contribution to the network on the dashboard and claim testnet tokens, as the protocol is live and bountied to ensure its resilience once live.
Completion Note: Torex Protocol entered Goerli Testnet on 21st August 2024, ahead of original schedule! Our dashboard soon live and connects to Goerli testnet, and has a new distribution and claim page. To triage issues and feature requests, we created the Torex Protocol Development channel.
Phase 4b: First preorder of Torex Protocol Relay Hardware
🗓️: Q4 2025
The Torex Protocol Relay, configurable from our dashboard, will have its first batch pre-order. The first 1000 units will be preordered through a series of NFT sales. Details can be found in the Tokenomics report.
Phase 4c: Torex Protocol live on BSC Mainnet
🗓️: Q1 2026
The Torex Protocol v1 will be live, enabling registered Tor relays to receive the TOREX token in accordance to their useful contribution to the network, as determined by consensus weight. Users will be able to see their rewards, updated at high frequency, and claim them from Arweave to BSC on the dashboard.
Phase 5: Wider Scope and Decentralization
Phase 5a: Decentralized Control to the Torex Protocol DAO
🗓️: Q1 2026 / Q2 2026
Building out a novel DAO allowing holders to double-stake to vote on new protocol addition, the relative recognition pools allocated to protocols, and the type of metrics to encourage or discourage across our growing fleet of relays
Phase 5b: Integration with additional distributed networks
🗓️: Q3 2026
Our chain-agnostic validator fleet will expand to acommodate metrics for relay operators in other networks furthering global anonymity and sovereignty, such as Nostr.
Phase 6+ Onion Services and Third-Party Pools
Our current focus is on delivering an enterprise-level protocol, to make an immediate and tangible impact on the decentralized networks that change the world. However, the following follows naturally from the development of the v1 protocol
Phase 5a: Torex Protocol Team's Own Services
Torex Protocol will deploy their own onion services, bringing new levels of anonymity to existing on and off-chain services
Phase 5b: Introduction of third-party pools
Third party service providers will be able to create their own reward pools, competing with the existing rewards for relay computation, allowing relays to host endpoints for networks (such as exit relays for onion services). Existing web services can find anonymous mirrors, ensuring user anonymity and service-provider privacy.
